What a great lady, indeed! I hope my children and grandchildren will think of me as you do your mother, Bro. Joe.
I had never heard the story about the two strangers that heard the plea on the radio to help your mom, that was a miracle and I believe God did that. That is reassurance to me and others of God's love for us.

REPORT FROM JOE AFTER MOM'S BIRTHDAY...

Her birthday was Monday, and today is Thursday. I think she has received something over 50 cards and notes, a number saying they read about her at our website. Thanks so much. Ginger is exactly right about that miracle. I was maybe 10 at the time and had been so sheltered with loving parents that it was never communicated to me that my mother was hovering at the edge of death. (Another way of putting that was that I was wrapped up in my own doings---as usual---and not sufficiently aware of what was going on around me.) Mom was just always there and surely, I thought, always would be. Only later did we hear of the two traveling businessmen who heard the plea over the radio and drove to Beckley Memorial Hospital and gave the blood that saved her life. Just so did the Lord provide for her and for us. We are forever grateful to God and to some men we will never know.

You given blood lately?
